Born in Moscow, Russia, Irina Sharifi started painting at an early age. The early inspiration of her work was from master artists such as Repin, Serov, and Monet. Her talent and inspiration were further perfected with formal training at the Moscow Art University, which was named after Sergei Stroganov.
Sharifi captures the tranquility of nature’s beauty with a unique combination of detail and subtle tones reflected in harmony with the use of watercolor and oil. Her work is an exemplary study in contrast with soothing colors that blend into cool tones or crisp detail. Sharifi captures the beauty of local landscapes and notable Philadelphia landmarks as she calls the Philadelphia area home.
Sharifi’s creations hang in private collections in the US and across the world. Irina resides in the rolling woodlands of northeastern Pennsylvania, where she continues to draw inspiration from the beauty of nature manifested in various ways through the seasons.
