Beiming Shi was born in China and immersed himself in the artist culture in Beijing at an early age. He enjoyed a great reputation in the artist community and was commissioned to do many dignitary portraits. Beiming has just recently come to the West where he set up art studios in both Toronto and Philadelphia. Not long after immigrating here, he debuted his work at the New York Art Expo and got international recognition by artists, critics, and collectors. About his recent works, Beiming says: 'Philadelphia landscape paintings are my recent new works. I love rich colors and show them in my paintings with multi-layer. Incorporating eastern art elements in the paintings gives my work a unique style. My early years training in Chinese painting and calligraphy makes my composition, brush stroke, and structure exhibit this distinctive style.' The Chestnut Hill Gallery is thrilled to represent Beiming in the Philadelphia area. His Asian-influenced impressionist paintings are distinct and moving, and he is a prolific and consistent artist.
