ARTIST’S RECEPTION: Saturday, July 17th, 6-8 PM
The Chestnut Hill Gallery, located in the heart of historic Chestnut Hill, is thrilled to present a summer exhibit featuring two NYC standouts and two rising stars in the Philadelphia area.

Steve Ladner was one of the top fashion photographers and studio owners in New York City in the 70's, 80's and into the 90's. He has photographed fashion, beauty and lifestyle for top magazines such as Harper's Bazaar, GQ, Town & Country, Esquire, French Vogue, The New York Times, and cosmetic ad campaigns for Revlon, Chanel, Almay, Avon, and others. He also spent 7 years living and working as a fashion photographer in Paris , France . Steve has recently relocated to Philadelphia where he continues to photograph portraits and lifestyles for private and corporate clients, and magazine editorials, both in Philly and NYC. Steve was early on inspired to create digital artwork beyond his commissioned photo assignments. Recently, Steve has begun painting, combining photography and paint in a personal and unique way. It is an organic out-growth of what inspired and informed his photography in the beginning: beauty, color, geometry, imagination, and the unknown. The Chestnut Hill Gallery is proud to represent this body of work.

Gwendolyn Chambers, an award-winning School of Visual Arts graduate, who lives in NYC began her current body of work in 2002 shortly after the purchase of her first car - a 1973 Dodge Dart. Her layered style incorporates symbols or images that tie into the history of the car, location or personality of the person to whom it belongs. The cars take on transcendental personality – levitating and driving away.

Rounding out the exhibit are two local favorites: Anne Buckwalter and Lila Duey – truly the finest of the Tyler BFA program and very popular in the Philadelphia area.
